About the Editors

Editor-in-Chief

Ali Huzayyin is a Professor of Transport and Traffic Engineering and Planning, Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, Egypt. He received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Leeds University, UK. He is an editorial board member in the Journal of Mega Infrastructure & Sustainable Development, Taylor & Frances. His research interests include transport planning, traffic management, public transport, sustainable transport, road safety, and environmental assessment.

Aims and scope

The Journal of Engineering and Applied Science publishes fundamental and applied research articles and reviews spanning different areas of engineering disciplines, applications, and interdisciplinary topics. These include, but are not limited to, the following areas:

About the Society

The Journal of Engineering and Applied Science (JEAS) is the official journal of the Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University (CUFE), Egypt, established in 1816. CUFE has 14 scientific departments, offering B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in their specialisations. The total number of undergraduate and graduate students in CUFE is about 16,000. In addition, CUFE has several Research and Development (R&D) Centres and Service Laboratories, playing an important role in addressing the needs of the industry, community, government, and the private sector.

JEAS was published by CUFE in 1953 as the first scientific journal of its kind in Africa and the Middle East. Volume 1 was published under the title Bulletin of the Faculty of Engineering. In the 1970s, the journal's title was changed to Scientific Engineering Bulletin. In 1991, with the issuance of Volume 38, the journal started to appear under its current title, JEAS.
