The Journal of Engineering and Applied Science (JEAS) is the official journal of the Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University (CUFE), Egypt, established in 1816. CUFE has 14 scientific departments, offering B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in their specialisations. The total number of undergraduate and graduate students in CUFE is about 16,000. In addition, CUFE has several Research and Development (R&D) Centres and Service Laboratories, playing an important role in addressing the needs of the industry, community, government, and the private sector.
JEAS was published by CUFE in 1953 as the first scientific journal of its kind in Africa and the Middle East. Volume 1 was published under the title Bulletin of the Faculty of Engineering. In the 1970s, the journal's title was changed to Scientific Engineering Bulletin. In 1991, with the issuance of Volume 38, the journal started to appear under its current title, JEAS. Archives of previous issues from 1999 (Vol. 46) to 2020 (Vol. 67) can be found at the following link https://jeasonline.org/.
